Feeding Your Horse

We have 30 acres of grassland for 14 horses.

  • We provide 24 hour turnout for 6 summer months.
  • We turnout in the daytime in winter except in extreme weather events.
  • We use all weather turnout paddocks to aid grazing management.
  • Our clients keep the paddocks clear of dung or use our dung collection service.
  • We have five securely fenced fields which are sub divided into individual paddocks.
  • Paddock size is tailored to grazing need.
  • Surplus grazing is used for hay and haylage production.
  • Individual paddock location within a field and mini herd is determined by many factors.
  • Paddocks are rolled, raked, aerated, drained, mown, sprayed for weeds, given nutrients,
  •       and checked for ph. This allows optimum grass growth and dryer fields in winter.
  • All paddocks have self filling water troughs and gateways have hard standing.
  • Every field has a dung trailer provided.
  • All our fields are accessed directly from the yard and public roads are not used.
  • All electric fences are maintained by the yard manager. Back fences can be provided.
  • We supply our livery yard with hay, high fibre haylage and straw from our own fields.
